It’s that time of year again (our favorite time, of course!)… it’s harvest season! Our cranberries are at their peak of color and flavor – a gorgeous deep red, crisp, tangy and delicious - and they are ready to be taken of the vines. Which means that they’ll soon be in the produce section of your market, ready for you to use in lots of different fall recipes and holiday decorations. We’re sure you have seasonal staples that you make year after year, but here are a few of our favorites in case you want to try something new. Did you know...Contrary to popular belief, cranberries do not grow in water. A perennial plant, cranberries grow on low-running vines in sandy bogs and marshes. Because cranberries float, some bogs are flooded when the fruit is ready for harvesting. Others are harvested using machines that resemble lawnmowers that “comb” fresh cranberries off the vines.
